Workshop on Circular Bioeconomy and Nutrient Management
On 26 March 2026, the Belgian Regional Cluster will host an online workshop focused on exploring innovative pathways for producing alternative proteins from residual biomass streams.
The session will bring together researchers and stakeholders from the bio-based sector to showcase emerging solutions that convert agricultural, food-processing, and organic residues into alternative protein sources, such as microalgae, microbial proteins, and grass-based proteins.
Participants will also review Best Management Practices (BMPs) developed within NPower and discuss their relevance for circular protein production systems. The workshop will feature contributions from ongoing projects demonstrating innovative approaches, followed by a collaborative discussion on future opportunities and challenges for scaling these solutions.
This workshop supports knowledge exchange and collaboration across the circular bioeconomy, contributing to more efficient nutrient use and sustainable protein production systems.
