Blue Bioeconomy and Marine Resources in Tackling Nutrient Excess

Marine Sector Multi-Actor Workshop

On 15 April 2026, the Irish Regional Cluster will host an online workshop focused on circular nutrient flows in the marine sector.

The session will showcase BMPs from the NPower database and invite participants to assess their relevance for Irish marine systems. Discussions will address nutrient excess in marine waters and explore recovery opportunities, including aquaculture waste valorisation.

Industry professionals, policymakers, researchers and community representatives are invited to exchange perspectives and identify locally adapted solutions for improved nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) management from a blue bioeconomy perspective.

This workshop contributes to the Irish stakeholder collaboration process within NPower, fostering circular approaches across marine ecosystems and coastal economies.
